A beautiful hike through the heart of the Jorasse Forest, which is traditionally covered in deep snow (to reach the highest point, the Avenaz). This loop is slightly longer than the Cornillon loop.
Starting from the Cornillon parking lot or the upper Lezaive parking lot, set out to explore the Jorasse Forest by taking the forest road uphill. The return trip follows the Cornillon trail, which is a bit steeper but remains in the forest.
Toward the end of the loop, the trail gets a little steeper.
The trail for the Plaines Loop is marked with fuchsia-colored signs.

3/ Once you reach Les Plaines, next to the forest trail sign, take the path on your left. You’ll pass some sundials, and at the end of the path, take the descending trail: the Chemin de l’Avenaz.
